Perrywoods Youth 5-1 Worcester Falcons

First home game for Perrywoods new home pitch at Blakedown & the lads really focused upon the system we have been working on in training. Lowe had several chances in the first 10 min's before opening his tally with a fine individual strike.
Half time score 2-1.
Dan Harris pulled off a couple of great saves for PWY & Jilali cleared one off the line.
Luke Pollard was carried off with a bloody nose within 5 minutes of coming off the bench.
The game was won in midfield & after scoring our 4th at 4-1 PWY went to two up front, with George Beddall creating a few chances.
Lowe was replaced after his hat trick by Dean-Richards, who had an impressive game.

Westbury Celtic Youth 7-1 Perrywoods Youth

At 2-1 we were holding them, but basic mistakes & not closing them down was vey costly.
Played into a head wind, withthen changed direction 2nd half!!
Westbury are a Good footballing side, but with time we will be good enough to compete with them.
MOM was Sam Newton who covered evey blade of grass, with Matty Hayward also putting in an excellent display.

St Johns Tigers 5-5 Perrywoods Youth

Exiting game to say the least, where we conceeded a very debatable penalty & two equally debatable goals disallowed.
This did not detract from a really top draw performance from the lads.
Coming from 5-1 down, 3-0 at half time, the lad's hard work, quality and obvious fitness advantage shone thru.
3-0, became 3-1,then,4-1,then 5-1. Then Alex Lowe,scored a cracking drive & he soon followed this upwith a second strike. Sam Newton welcome return from injury & he can on just before the break. His impact was immediate & he contributed with two well taken goals shortly after half time.
10 mins top go, Tigers were on the backfoot & a long ball from Josh Wint from well into our half took a large bounce & paniced their defence. Pressure from our midfield ended with theTigers centre half back heading the clearance into their own net. 5-5!! Bliss!!

4th September 2005
Kinver Colts 7-5 Perrywoods Youth

Kinver scored from their 1st attack as clearly the lads were suffering from 1st match nerves.
After 10 mins Perrywoods were 2-0 down, then we cameback 2-1.
Half time score 3-2.
Craig Glaze pulled off some top draw saves in the 2nd half to keep us in the game, but their No.8 was very quick & beat our off side trap on too many occassions. Final score 7-5.
Highlights...Craigs goalkeeping. Mike Jilali's glancing header from a corner & Alex Lowes 20 yd strike.

Summary, 1st game & the lads showed a huge amount of potential,facing a team in their 3rd season together.
Finally, well done to the parents, most of whom attended.
